If them other guys gets in jail they can rot for all anybody gives a damn. But not us" (13-14).

Of Mice and Men

Plot Summary:
The setting is in a rural country side in California, where George and Lennie are walking along a trail. They are on their way to a new ranch, where they hope to be hired. George looks out for Lennie, since he has a mental illness. Lennie loves mice and likes to kill them because he doesn't realize his strength. Later, Lennie tells the story of their future happiness, where they will save enough money to buy a farm for themselves, grow livestock, and tend rabbits.

My Response:
This chapter gave me many different feelings. I thought this was a sad chapter because Lennie and George only have each other to count on. I think they have a good relationship and friendship, which will continue to grow throughout the novel. I feel bad for both Lennie and George. Lennie , because of the mental illness, that he doesn’t know right from wrong, and George because he has to put up with Lennie and take care of him, which takes lots of patience. They both are trying to help each other with the dream they want for their future, which I believe they can achieve.
